About
Guided by experience. Driven by compassion.
Idaho Family Mediation was founded on a simple belief: families deserve a better way to resolve conflict — one that preserves relationships, protects dignity, and leads to lasting solutions.
Julie Wells
Certified Family Mediator
Julie Wells has spent over sixteen years helping families navigate some of the most difficult moments of their lives. A trained mediator and Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, she founded Idaho Family Mediation after seeing firsthand how litigation — even when necessary — often left families more fractured than before.
Julie's approach is grounded in the belief that most families, given the right environment and support, are capable of reaching their own solutions. Her role is not to decide outcomes, but to create the conditions where honest, productive conversation becomes possible — and where agreements can be built on mutual understanding rather than legal pressure.
She is a member of the Idaho Mediation Association and holds advanced training in family and child custody mediation. Julie is also certified in elder-care mediation. She serves families throughout Idaho from her office in Boise utilizing remote video sessions.

Our Approach
Mediation works best when both parties feel safe, heard, and respected. Everything we do is designed to create that environment.
Neutral by design
We don't take sides. Our role is to facilitate — not to advocate for any outcome. Every session is structured to give each person equal voice and equal respect.
Confidential by default
Everything discussed in mediation stays in mediation. This confidentiality is what allows families to speak honestly and explore options they might never raise in a courtroom.
Family-centered always
We keep the focus on what matters most — your family's wellbeing, your children's stability, and your ability to move forward with your relationships intact.
Practical and lasting
Agreements reached through mediation tend to hold. Because both parties helped create them, they reflect real needs and real commitments — not just legal minimums.
